Custom Texture plate design

The latest in the nature designer cabochon series..this is gorgeous blue green Chrysocolla and Malachite cabochon from Gerard scott designs.com. For this I made a custom texture plate using copper etching based on hand drawings, this lends a particular hand rendered organic look to it.

Etsy treasury

My Etsy shop has made it to two treasury lists, interestingly the same pendant. Treasury lists are a good Karma way of promoting other artists. You make a curated list of themed products( cannot put your own products) and put it out there for people to see. These lists also might end up on the home page if well done. Here is the picture of the pendant that has been included:

November Challenge Piece for Metal Clay Heads Team at Etsy!

Here is my entry for November challenge. The theme of this month is very close to my heart as I believe that nature is my primary source of inspiration and learning. I LOVE gemstones as I see them representing one of mother natures most beautiful gift to mankind. This pendant is made in fine silver with Amazonite cab and Topaz.
Sky, Water and Earth come together in harmony in this completely handcrafted fine silver pendant. Stylish and organic, the pendant is hand-sculpted, hand-textured, antiqued and polished. Hangs from a sterling silver rollo chain, punctuated with beautiful green color chrysoprase and sunstone beads. The texture is made from a mold of real coral, thus representing the deep seas. There is a smaller sized similar pattern on top, signifying the close and cyclical ties of sky and water.

Getting published

I have been trying to get my work published in print. I sent two of my images to be included in the Metal clay artist magazine. Hope it will happen this time around, this is my second attempt to get published with Metal Clay Artist magazine.

Inspirations

Here is a beautiful stone that I found washed ashore at one of the Big Sur beaches. The meandering lines on the stone look like tributaries to me. Its beauty speaks for itself. I am amazed and humbled at the same time by this little baby.

Inspiration and Creation

The website is up and running, so is the blog and the etsy shop. Need to post more products in the shop. It has been such a great learning process. I am going to share this picture of a set that I designed after finding a little but incredibly beautiful shell at one of the Big Sur beaches this summer. I am in love with this tiny shell. I have some more ideas floating in my head to pay tribute this little natural wonder of exquisite design and beauty.

http://www.vaasvara.com has been launched!

Check out my new website at vaasvara.com. I had to wear many hats to complete this project, photographer, graphic artist and web designer to name just a few. I welcome your feedback as I continue to strive for better online presence and offer excellent quality designer jewelry. Over this summer I embraced metal clay and have been completely captured by it. My trip to Big Sur over this summer has inspired me in many ways. Some of the designs were born out of this. Stay tuned in as I share these here.
